The short version
- We use a few cookies to keep you signed in and to finish a checkout. They hold no tracking data.
- Your website details and theme are saved in your own browser so you do not type them again.
- Google Analytics cookies count visits. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they are only set if you accept.
- We use no advertising cookies.
- You can change your choice with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (local storage) works in a similar way but stays on your device and is not sent to our servers with every request. Both help a site remember things between pages and visits.
2. Cookies that are needed
These cookies make sign in and checkout work. They do not track you across other sites, and the law does not require consent for them.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
ft_s | Keeps you signed in to your account. It cannot be read by scripts on the page. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
ft_in | Tells the page that you are signed in so it can show your dashboard link. It holds no personal data. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
ft_co | Links a checkout to the browser that started it, so you are signed in when you come back from paying. | 6 hours |
ft_ops | Signs our own team in to the admin area. It is never set for customers. | 12 hours |
If Cloudflare, which delivers the site, needs to check that a visitor is not a bot, it may set a short lived security cookie such as cf_clearance.
3. Browser storage
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
ft_profile | Your website details, so every generator can use them without asking again. | Until you clear it |
ft_theme | Your light or dark theme choice. | Until you clear it |
ft_land | The first page you visited and the site that sent you, passed with a checkout so we know which page helped. | 30 days |
ft_consent | Your choice about analytics cookies. | Until you clear it |
4. Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages help people. It does not receive your website details, your account email or your pages, and its advertising cookies and signals are switched off.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells one visitor apart from another. | 2 years |
_ga_* | Keeps the state of the current visit. | 2 years |
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these cookies are only set after you accept them. Elsewhere they are set by default, and you can turn them off at any time.
5. Stripe
When you pay, you move to Stripe's checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. They are covered by Stripe's privacy and cookie policies.
6. How to change your choice
- Use , also at the bottom of every page, to accept or decline analytics cookies.
- Delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. You will be signed out, and your saved website details will be removed from that browser.
- Install Google's Analytics opt out browser add on to block Google Analytics on every site.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie, we update this page and the date at the top.
