1. Who we are and this agreement

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Outline Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”), 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, the company that runs FreeTOS.org. They apply when you visit the site, create an account, add your website details, see a preview or subscribe to the Website Legal Package.

If you use FreeTOS for a business, you accept these terms for that business and confirm that you are allowed to. If you do not agree with them, please do not use FreeTOS.

2. What FreeTOS does

FreeTOS writes legal pages for websites, apps and online stores, such as Terms of Service, privacy policies, cookie policies, refund policies and disclosures. Each page is drafted by an AI model (Google Gemini) from the details you give us and follows the structure that type of document usually has.

FreeTOS is a document drafting tool. We are not a law firm, we do not give legal advice and no lawyer reviews the pages. Using FreeTOS does not create a lawyer and client relationship between you and us.

3. Your account

You need an account to subscribe to the Website Legal Package. An account is created when you subscribe, or when you sign in with the 6 digit code we send to your email address. There is no password.

Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your account, so keep that mailbox secure. An account is for one person or one business. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at [email protected].

4. Your website details and previews

You enter your website details once: business name, website address, country, where your customers are, what the site does, a contact email to print on your pages and, if you want, a refund window and a postal address. They are saved in your browser and, once you have an account, in your account. Every page we write uses them.

You are responsible for making sure the details are true and that you are allowed to publish legal pages for that website. Before you subscribe, we show you which pages your site needs and how a page starts. The rest of the preview stays hidden until your pages are written.

5. The Website Legal Package

The Website Legal Package is a monthly plan for one website. While your plan is active you get:

• every legal page the site needs, chosen from your website details and written right after you subscribe, usually about a minute per page;
• updates when the law changes: when we find that a new or changed law affects pages in your plan, we rewrite those pages and email you what changed;
• any of the 26 page types FreeTOS writes, added to your set whenever you need them;
• rewrites of any page with an optional note about what should change, up to 3 a day for each page and 20 a day in total;
• storage of your pages in your account, and a hosted link for each page that shows its latest version;
• downloads as HTML, Markdown and plain text, and one ZIP file with a ready block of footer links;
• help by email from a real person.

We follow new privacy and consumer protection laws, but we cannot catch every change in every country, and a rewritten page is still written by AI (see section 9). Tell us about a law you think affects your pages and we will look at it.

One plan covers one website. If you run another website, it needs its own plan. Rewrites are for keeping your own pages current. If an account rewrites pages at a volume that looks automated, we may ask about it and limit it. As laws change, we may change which pages we recommend for a type of site.

6. Price, billing and tax

The Website Legal Package costs $19 (US dollars) a month. The first payment is taken when you subscribe. Your plan then renews automatically every month on the same date, and $19 is charged to the card on file until you cancel. Stripe emails you a receipt for every payment.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may act as the merchant of record for your payments and collect any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live, which is shown before you pay. We never see or store your full card number. You can change your card and download invoices from the billing page in your dashboard.

If we change the price, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your plan, so you can cancel before then if you want to.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries your card again over the following days. If it still fails, your plan ends.

When you start a checkout we pass your email address, your approximate country, your IP address, your browser type and the page you arrived on to Stripe with the checkout, to take the payment, prevent fraud and connect the plan to your account.

7. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your dashboard, or by emailing [email protected]. Cancelling stops future payments. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you have paid for, and then ends. There is no cancellation fee.

You can ask for a refund of a payment within 7 days of it, with a reason, as long as no page has been written or rewritten at your request since that payment. Once pages are written, the payment is not refundable, because the pages are yours to publish. If a page failed to write, we fix it or refund the payment. A refund ends the plan, so you are not charged again. Our Refund Policy has the details.

When your plan ends, the pages in your account are locked: you can no longer open, download or rewrite them there. The pages you already published on your own website stay yours. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you ask us at checkout to start writing straight away and accept that your right to cancel ends once your pages are written. Any other right a consumer law gives you still applies.

8. Who owns the pages

The pages we write for you belong to you. You can publish, edit, copy and adapt them for the website they were written for.

You allow us to store your website details and your pages, and to send your details to the AI model that writes the pages, only so that we can provide FreeTOS to you. We do not use your details or your pages to train AI models, and we do not publish your pages anywhere. Each page has a private link that only people you share it with can open.

9. Pages written by AI

AI can make mistakes, leave things out or describe a law in a way that does not fit your business. Read every page before you publish it and check that it matches how your business really works.

Have a lawyer review your pages if your business carries real legal risk, handles health, financial or children's data, or works in a regulated field. You are responsible for the pages you publish on your website.

10. Acceptable use

Use FreeTOS lawfully and fairly. Our Acceptable Use Policy lists what is not allowed, such as writing pages for a business you do not run or represent, trying to get around the payment, scraping the site or overloading our systems. We may limit or end access when that policy is broken.

11. Our intellectual property

The FreeTOS name and logo, the website and its design, text and code belong to Outline Technologies LLC. These terms let you use the service and the pages written for you. They do not give you any other right to our name, content or software.

12. Services we rely on

FreeTOS uses services from other companies, including Google (the Gemini API and Google Analytics), Stripe, Supabase, Resend, Hetzner and Cloudflare. Their own terms apply to the work they do. We are not responsible for their outages or changes, but we choose them with care and replace them when we need to. Our Privacy Policy lists what each one receives.

13. Changes to the service

We keep improving FreeTOS, so pages, features and document types may change. We may pause writing for short periods, for example during maintenance or heavy load.

If we ever close FreeTOS, we will email account holders at least 30 days before, so they can download their pages.

14. Closing an account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing us from the address on the account. If your plan is still active, we cancel it first so you are not charged again.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, uses stolen payment details, or puts other users or our systems at risk. Where we can, we tell you why before we act.

15. No warranty

FreeTOS and the pages it writes are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that the service will always be available or free of errors, or that any page is complete, up to date or right for your business and the laws that apply to it.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Outline Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, fines or penalties, that come from your use of FreeTOS or the pages it writes.

Our total liability for any claim about FreeTOS is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

17. Indemnity

If you use FreeTOS in breach of these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim, to the extent the law allows.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. The state and federal courts located in Wyoming have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country and you may bring a claim where you live. Please contact us first at [email protected]. Most problems are solved with one email.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change affects your plan in a meaningful way, we will email you before it takes effect. If you keep using FreeTOS after a change, the new terms apply.

20. General

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about FreeTOS. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. We may transfer this agreement to a business that takes over FreeTOS, and we will tell you if that happens.
